We incited a riot.

So we had a show yesterday. It turned out both better and worse than we expected.

It was at this outdoor pavilion thing. There was maybe 50-75 kids there. The girl who threw the show wasn't really prepared for it so all of the bands kind of decided how things were going to go.

We decided to stagger the bands (one on each side of the pavilion. One ends and the other starts as the next band sets up). Well, one side had an awesome p.a. and the other side had one 12 inch speaker. We played on the side with one speaker. Before we were about to play, craig and I asked the other side if we could borrow a monitor just so we could point it at the kids so it the vocals would be a little louder. Anyway, we walked over there and a guy looked at craig and said, "Hey. You're in The Remote Junkies right? Weren't you guys big in the 90's?" I laughed and craig told him not really and we went about our business.

There was a guy before us that played a bunch of acoustic songs. His parents were there taking pictures and everything. He finished and then we set up as the next band started. They played a short set and then we started. While we were playing we got a really really good response and we noticed the kids doing crazy stuff but it all seemed like the normal stupid kid behavior at shows. Craig mentioned something about using one of our songs as their schools graduation song and a group of girls told us that they would submit it, so cool. If your graduation song happens to be called "analgeist" I'm sorry.

Anyway, we played maybe 6 or 7 songs and then the girl throwing the show asked us to stop playing. We weren't sure why, but we stopped after our song. It turns out that all the commotion and stuff was actually pretty serious. The acoustic guy who played before us cut a huge gash on the side of his face and then got his nose broken from the kids in the pit while we were playing. She asked us to stop playing because people were going too crazy. That is nuts. We felt bad for the kid afterward but it wasn't really our fault or anything.

As soon as we got done playing, there was a guy on my left that leaned over to a friend of his and said, "That was the best punk band I have ever seen live". His friend then leaned back to him and told him, "Yeah. They were the band that I showed up to see." I was honestly really proud and pleased to hear that.

Here are a few videos of last night.

In this one, you can see the kids run off to the side of where we are playing. You can't really tell what they are doing but the kids all fell into a chain link fence which is where we think the acoustic kid may have gotten the cut on the side of his face.

After the show, I watched Roadhouse with craig's dad.

Please, please, PLEASE, listen to "Purpose" by The Sandlot. Seriously, you will love it. It will warm your heart.
